Country Garden

My country garden series is inspired by the informal beauty’s of gardens and the changing seasons in the countryside an in particular my own gardens. I am drawn to winding paths, overflowing borders, hidden corners and the glimpses of colour and light that make a garden feel both intimate and alive.

Working mainly in oils, I use expressive brushwork and vibrant colour to capture the atmosphere of these familiar spaces rather than every detail. The paintings celebrate gardens as places that are constantly changing - sometimes abundant and unruly, sometimes quiet and still.
